I am available for keynotes, panels, festivals, bookstore visits, school visits, and workshops, and done magazine, print, radio and television interviews about my books. I have spoken alone or in combination with other writers for any number of attendees from an intimate group of ten to hundreds and for ages from middle school to adult. Visits can be in person, via Skype, or via Google Hangout.

I offer three visits a year free to Title 1 schools on a first come, first booked basis. I also offer free 20-minute Skype visits to classrooms, and I do not charge for bookstore visits in conjunction with other travel. Apart from travel expenses, I do not charge for visits to high schools or colleges who are teaching my books. On a select basis subject to availability, I love speaking briefly to bookclubs via Skype, and I’m happy to do that free of charge.

Overall, I love interacting with students and readers and encouraging aspiring writers in any way possible while making learning a fun and invisible experience. I like to think of my books as popcorn with vitamins, which is to say that you can escape into them as books, but there’s also some history and food-for-thought woven throughout, which provides a lot to talk about.

Please check here for a list of topics on which I speak quite frequently.
