Dark Designs Book Event at Hooray for Books @ Hooray for Books
Apr 15 @ 11:00 PM – Apr 16 @ 12:00 AM
Wednesday, April 15th: Young adult panel “Dark Designs” featuringDelilah Dawson, author of HitMartina Boone, author of Compulsion,Mary G Thompson, author of Evil Fairies Love Hair, and Alex Lidell, author of The Cadet of Tildor. 7 pm, 12 years old and up.
Hit is a frightening glimpse of a reality not far from ours, where big banks have bailed the U.S. out of debt and use their new-found power to force ordinary citizens, like innocent teen Patsy, to become indentured assassins.
Barrie Watson arrives at her aunt’s island plantation to find that an ancient spirit has cursed one of the island’s founding families and given the others magical gifts that manifest as compulsions. Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy and keep hold of a love she never expected to find in Compulsion.
In Evil Fairies Love Hair, Ali and her middle school classmates are raising a flock of fairies to grant them wishes – but raising fairies is harder than it sounds! Mistakes are made, spells go awry, and soon Ali is up against hundreds of two-inch tall imps with big plans.
At the Academy of Tildor, the training ground for elite soldiers, Cadet Renee de Winter struggles to keep up with her male peers. But when her mentor is kidnapped to fight in illegal gladiator games, Renee and her best friend Alec find themselves thrust into a world rife with crime and intrigue in The Cadet of Tildor.
